About Severna Park Middle School

Severna Park Middle School, a 2006 NCLB National Blue Ribbon School, emphasizes diversity and integrated instruction leading to outstanding academic successes.  With the cutting edge use of classroom technology, its interdisciplinary teams align student collaboration with multiple intelligences and cooperative learning strategies into all areas of study, including the fine arts and physical education programs.  The Student Government Association and the National Junior Honor Society, empowered with student centered decision making, as well as extensive family/community partnerships further enhance student excellence in meeting academic demands.

The 2015-2016 projected enrollment is 1,434 students in grades 6, 7, and 8.  All students belong to an Interdisciplinary Team comprised of the four core teachers as well as encore Advisory teachers.  In addition to active, hands on learning throughout the school day, students have the option of staying for HELP sessions every Tuesday after school.  All students have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities – strings, band, chorus, yearbook, newspaper, intramurals, chess club, environmental club  – on Thursdays after school.
